The kingdom is going down,
Destroyed from within by the cancer of neglect and greed.
Unfortunate emotional starvation,
And imagination is no longer integral and pure.
All the Labour-Beasts are sallow and melting,
Weakness has infested and betrayed trust and understanding.
Like hired help or pack mules overloaded,
The atmosphere is deteriorating and mutiny is at hand.
Up in arms and in attempted boycott,
Droves of those who once loved are shot down and forgotten.
We are told to follow and accept,
Yet we secretly disagree and loathe,
Your type of thinking could crack the foundation.
So grab my hand and lie to me,
Hold me up high so that I can suffocate in the poisonous atmosphere,
Break up the morale of those who deserve fairness,
And they quickly forget to not smile,
Like dumb cats who will run themselves into walls,
And then lick their bloody wounds until they die of blood loss.
About the Author - R.M. Anderson-Matlock
Robert "Myles" Anderson-Matlock began writing in 2002 while a Senior in High School. Myles writes of distress, anguish, oppression, and the pain of growing up misunderstood, ridiculed, and different; his mental definition of normality and justice greatly skewed. Today, he lives happily in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is working hard to gather, scrub, and publish nearly six years of writings as his first public published work, ...And He Had Old Man Eyes. Myles is also hard at work with other literary projects.
